Compare

Comparing restaurant POS systems, honestly.

You are going to look at several systems before you pick one — you should. These pages are our side of that comparison: what we do, stated plainly, and the questions we think you should put to every vendor on your list, us included.

We don't quote anyone else's prices. Go read theirs.

Do it properly

Six questions for every vendor on your list.

Including us. A vendor's willingness to answer these plainly tells you as much as the answers.

🔌

What happens when the internet drops

Ask for mechanics, not reassurance: can you still ring cash, does the receipt still print, and does the sale survive. This is the single most common day-ruining failure in modern POS.

🖥️

Whose hardware you end up on

Find out what you own at the end, what a spare costs on a Saturday, and what the gear is worth to you if you ever switch vendor.

🧾

What the real total is

Price the system you will actually run — kitchen display, loyalty, gift cards, online ordering, inventory, payroll — not the entry tier. Add-ons are where quotes diverge from invoices.

📦

Whether the back office is included

Plenty of systems report beautifully on sales and stop at the kitchen door. Ask about recipes, ingredient-level stock, purchase orders, goods receipts, and payroll.

☎️

Who you actually call

The vendor, a reseller, or the bank that sold it to you? Establish who is accountable before the Friday night you need to know.

🚪

How you would leave

Ask every vendor how you get your data out and what happens to the hardware. A vendor comfortable answering that is telling you something.

On the record

Our answers to our own questions.

Offline
The register keeps taking orders and ringing cash with the connection down; receipts still print locally in about two seconds; every sale syncs when you are back.
Hardware
Runs on the Windows registers, tablets, and printers you already own. No hardware bundle. Terminals are licensed by hardware identity.
What's included
POS, kitchen, shifts, time clock, inventory, procurement, payroll, loyalty, gift cards, online ordering, delivery, driver app, and a website builder.
Support
Direct from us. We do not sell through resellers.
Multi-store
Organizations with per-store logins, isolated per-store data, and each store on its own address.
Pricing shape
A monthly subscription per store, plus terminal licences you add as you grow.
⚖️

Why you won't find their pricing on these pages

Competitors change their pricing, packaging, and features whenever they like, and a comparison table full of someone else's numbers is out of date the week after it is written. So we state what PatronWorks does and send you to the source for everything else. If a vendor's own page contradicts something you read here about them, believe their page — and tell us, so we can fix ours.

The fastest comparison is a demo with your own menu.

We'll set your store up live on the call and you can judge it against whatever else you're looking at.
